Updated as on November 27, 2022: WBJEE 2023 - The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination also known as abbreviated WBJEE is a competitive entrance exam which is conducted in the West Bengal state under the West Bengal government with the purpose to determine efficiency or eligibility to candidates for admission at various private and governmental institutions in the field of medical, engineering and technological curriculums. The board conducts Entrance exam with an objective to provide quality education and it has also intent to evaluate the educational standard through the competitive exam in the state.
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) was set up on March 2, 1962, by the Government of West Bengal.
The Board is potential to conduct common, combined, competitive, entrance examinations for admission to the undergraduate professional and vocational courses in any private/governmental Colleges or in any Universities in the State of West Bengal.
In the initial stage, willing candidates who want to get admission for undergraduate professional and vocational courses in any private/governmental Colleges or institutions are mandatory to apply by an online process for the exam.
WBJEE 2023: Online Application Process Started - You Need to Know in Detail
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) registration process to start tentatively from the last week of December 2023. The application process for the examination will be started shortly.
Although, students who are going to appear in the exam with an objective to take admission for undergraduate courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Government Colleges and Self-Financed Institutes in West Bengal state, can apply now by entering correct and required details. The examination will be conducted on Last Week of April, 2023. The admit card for the entrance exam is likely to announce in the month of March, 2023.
But, there is no announcement date of the result scheduled till now. The declaration date of result for the WBJEE 2023 will be released later. he entrance exam will be held by offline mode for two papers- subject Mathematics will consist of paper-I while Physics and Chemistry will be comprised in paper-II.
Candidates who will be appeared in both Paper-I and Paper-II and acquired the best rank in both papers are eligible to take admission in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy Courses in all institutes, while candidates who will appear for only paper –II and will get Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR), are eligible for admission only in Pharmacy Courses. Candidates belonging to general category will have to pay Rs. 700 as application fee while, Rs. 500 will have to pay for SC/ST/OBC category candidates.
Mission of the Exam
Exam strongly indicates that the candidate looking for the undergraduate based admission in Government College in the State need to ace the exam as per the official norms.
Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of score/merit of the entrance exam. Over the entrance exam, candidates are shortlisted. Shortlisted candidates are called at college/university to appear in written ability test, group discussion, and personal interview.
After successful completion of all process of the final admission, candidates are considered to admission at the college.
