About NEET 2025

Updated as on January 22, 2025: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET-UG 2025 is a national-level entrance examination that was earlier conducted every year by CBSE with the purpose to offer admissions into BDS / MBBS Courses but now it is organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA), established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI). The medical course is approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) while the dental course is approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI).

There are two types of entrance tests NEET-UG and NEET-PG.  Both the NEET-UG and NEET PG Entrance Tests are conducted for admission to the medical courses like MBBS and BDS that belong to Undergraduate (NEET-UG) while other medical courses like M.S and M.D belong to Post Graduate.

In today's era, numerous students are found aggressive to pursue the medical course after viewing its extensive requirement in the field of medical science. In fact, it is a vital education that provides full-fledged knowledge relevant to each part of the body. Hence, candidates in large numbers appear in the NEET entrance exam to get admission to the desired medical course.

Aspirants who are interested to pursue the study for a medical and dental course in any Government / Private Medical College and Dental Colleges can appear in the exam as the entrance exam is mandatory to admission for the medical or dental course. Candidates are selected during the cut-off list which is merit-based. Only selected candidates, who have appeared in the NEET exam, can get Admission to a Medical or dental course.

The National Testing Agency to release the NEET examination date for 2025. All interested candidates may fill out the application form on the official website neet.nta.nic.in this is the direct link to be accessed by the users. However, NEET 2025 is to be conducted in 13 languages including English & Hindi.

Application Form availability

Application Fee

Rs. 1,400 has been scheduled to pay the candidates as an application fee for the OBC and general categories, while Rs. 750 will have to pay the candidates who belong to ST/ SC and PH.

Exam Date

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test exam will be conducted by National Testing Agency through offline mode on May 7, 2025.

Eligibility

Candidates must have completed the 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized board or University with physics, chemistry, biology (PCM) /biotechnology, and English subjects.

Candidates should have also acquired a minimum of 50% marks for general, 45% marks for the general category, and 40% marks for SC/ST & OBC candidates in the PCB stream.

Age Limit

The minimum age for the aspirants has been determined 17 years. The upper age limit for the exam is 25 years on the exam date. 5 years have been exempted for those candidates who belong to OBC/SC/ST category.
