Updated on September 6, 2023: CAT Entrance Exam 2022 - Aspirants who have the ambition to pursue either post-graduation (MBA / PGDM) or fellow programs need to take part in the entrance test which is held every year across India to screen quality students to offer admissions. However, the Common Admission Test (CAT) is the best gateway to get admission in the various postgraduate and fellow curriculums as the Indian Institute of Management and other tier-I management colleges allow admission on the basis of the CAT Entrance Exam.
Although, the registration process for the entrance test (CAT) started on August 2, 2023, and the CAT Entrance Exam 2023 third slot is about to conclude on November 26, 2023 by IIM, at 156 various exam centers across India. However, candidates have been provided with an option by IIM to select any six exam cities according to their choice.

Common Admission Test is a premier selection process for admission the candidates for Master of Business Administration ( MBA) in which Group Discussions, Written Ability Test, Personal Interviews, and scores are comprised that is called CAT.
The Common Admission Test is a computer-based competitive test that is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management every year for selecting a candidate for business admission programs across India. The CAT examination is divided into three parts- Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability and Comprehension, Data presentation, and Logical Reasoning and the questions are asked by candidates on the basis of these three sections in which various topics are comprised.

Standard 12th-based mathematics questions are enquired to students from Quantitative Ability in which various topics like Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Commercial Mathematics are comprised whereby solved under the scheduled time.
The data presentation and logical reasoning section comprises questions that are asked based on the given data like graphs, charts, tables, and paragraphs.
Standard English grammar, Verbal Logic questions test the candidate's knowledge of arranging paragraphs in a logical order is comprised in the Verbal Ability section and logical reasoning section
Applicants belonging to Other Backward Classes and general category have to pay INR 2400 as a registration fee while for SC/ST/and Person with Disability categories, INR 1200 have been scheduled as a registration fee. The admission process is based on the scores /ranks. Candidates who acquired the sectional cut-offs along with overall cut-offs in the written test are called for Group Discussion / Personal Interviews by the Indian Institutes of Management.
General categories candidates who have craved to appear in the CAT exam must have a Bachelor's degree with 50% marks issued by any of the recognized Boards or Universities.
Whereas, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PWD)/Differently Able (DA) category those have pursued to appear in CAT with purpose to admission in business management, must have Bachelor's Degree with 45 % marks issued by any of one recognized Board or Universities.
If the candidate is in the final year of the graduation course then they can also appear in the CAT examination.
The total duration for the CAT exam has been scheduled for 180 minutes with 100 questions.
Suggestion: Candidates are given 4 marks in the examination for each correct answer while a negative mark is given for every wrong answer.
