About Us

Thapar Polytechnic College cognized as TPC, Patiala is a private Polytechnic College which came into inception in the year 1956. The college was set up due to endeavors of visionary Late Lala Karam Chand Thapar located at Thapar Technology Campus, Patiala in the Indian state Punjab with an objective to impart excellence polytechnic education in various disciplines through well qualified and experienced teaching members.

It has also an intent to provide globally and nationally based quality education for both professional and technical in the field of Polytechnic / Diploma Engineering by various curriculums like Civil Engg., Electrical Engg. Mechanical Engg, Computer Engg, Architectural Assistantship, Electronics & Communication Engg. and Information Technology.

 It is one of the three organizations on Thapar Technology Campus, the other two are Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology University and Thapar Centre for Industrial Research & Development.

It is affiliated to Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training (PSBTE&IT) and has got approval with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Course

Since existence, TPC is offering 3-year Diploma curriculums to its students such as Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Architectural Assistantship, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Information Technology.

Admission process

Admission to students at TPC, Patiala is done only on the basis of merit.However,  the Polytechnic entrance exam is not conducted for the admission in the polytechnic course. 

Although, candidates are mandatory to apply their application both online as well as offline. The filled offline forms will be submitted from the institute and the same will be uploaded on the Board website at www.punjabteched.com and www.punjabteched.net for online counseling.

Eligibility

The admission to diploma level courses is done on the basis of class 10th wherein science stream (PCM) is the must.

Those candidates who have passed 10+2 science from a recognized board or have completed ITI with 2 years are eligible to get admission in the second year for diploma courses.

Training & Placement cell, organized by TPC is an integral part of the college which plays a vital role in counseling the students regarding their career and placements. 

In an ample number of talented students have got placement in the reputed organization due to endeavors of P & T Cell. The cell provides full-fledged assistance, training, perfect guidelines as well as job information and also meet students with recruiters with the purpose to achieve the job.
