About Us

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT), East Sikkim a constituent college of Sikkim Manipal University(SMU) was founded in the year 1997 under the Sikkim Manipal University was established in 1995, with the aim of imparting quality technical education and health care services in the state of Sikkim and countrywide. SMU is recognized by the University Grant Commission(UGC) and by the Government of India.

SMIT is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi, and affiliated with the Sikkim Manipal University, Sikkim, accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). It is spread over 35 beautifully landscaped acres. It has 250 highly qualified faculty, industry experts, and a large & efficient team of support and service staff.

 SMIT Offers courses B. Tech in Civil Engineering (CE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE),  CSE (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning), Electronics & Communication (ECE), Electrical and Electronics (EEE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Information Technology (IT), Artificial Intelligence & Data Science and various Post Graduate programs like MBA and MCA and M.
