About Us

Institute of Chemical Technology, normally known as ICT Mumbai is a renowned institute that has bee founded in the year 1933 on October 1 at Mumbai and that is also identified as the University Department of Chemical Technology.  It has several college campuses in India such as Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, and Marathwada Jalna. It had been established with an objective to provide oriented education on the nationally and internationally standard under the chemical curriculum through the faculty expertise and the institute is also committed to making enable its students that can struggle with any issues which are related to chemical technology. 

It offers several courses such as chemical engineering, chemical technology, applied chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology, and bio-processing.  Along with comprehensive education status, it got partial autonomy by the University of Mumbai in 1985. Due to its best performance in the education platform as well as having enlarged college campuses, it was converted into the University Institute of Chemical Technology on 26th January 2002 and that was granted full autonomy in 2004. Eventually, the institute became a Deemed-to-be-University by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, on 12 September 2008. 

In November 2017, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Committee granted ICT to provide grade with A++ CGPA of 3.77 out of 4. ICT has got the best platform under the top ten Engineering Institutes of India and 19th amongst the top universities if the country. Institute of Chemical Technology has been bagged 4th position amongst the Pharmacy Colleges in India.
