About Us

The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam also known as IIM Vizag is an autonomous management institute which was formed in 2015 nearby Andhra Bank School of Business Building at Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh state by Ministry of HRD under mentorship by the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
 
The Institute was established as one of the twenty Indian Institutes of Management where the temporary campus was situated while the foundation stone for the new campus was laid by Union Human Resource Development Minister, Smriti Irani on 17 January 2015 which would be extended with an area of  240-acre. 

 After its existence, it began its first batch of Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Management from August 2015.  IIM Vizag is affiliated with Indian Institute of Management (IIM).
 

Admission process

Candidates are mandatory to appear in Common Admission Test (CAT) as they are shortlisted on the basis of their best performance and also called for Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (IP) for final admission. 

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must have minimum educational efficiency as Graduation standard for Post-Graduate Program (PGP). 
Apart from this, candidates must have 50% marks for general categories.

If we discuss the placement records of the IIM Vishakhapatnam, it has good placement records as the average package to the candidates in the 2016-2018 session was offered by brand industries at Rs. 12.07 LPA and the median package offered was Rs. 11.70 LPA.
