About Us

Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg was set up in 1986 as the first self-financed Engineering College in Madhya Pradesh and has now been shaped as one of the most sought-after professional institutes in the central region. BIT is standing tall and steadfast in its commitment to providing qualitative education for its students. The courses offered by BIT are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and are affiliated with Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University (CSVTU).

It offers high-quality Programmes like  (Ph.D.), Management Programme (MBA), Computer Applications (MCA), and B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, and Information Technology. Master of Engineering & Technology courses is also.

BIT is providing facilities like a fully computerized library, functioning on the basis of an ‘open-access system. It houses over 73,000 books and subscribes to 1750 journals/periodicals. The library also contains more than 900 educational CDs and about 20 sets of encyclopedias. Students are provided the facility of computers with high-speed internet connectivity and access to e-journals.
